BYD won the only award of the 2021 “China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Award”!

On October 19th, at the opening ceremony of the 2021 China Society of Automotive Engineering Annual Conference and Exhibition, the 2021 “China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Award” (hereinafter referred to as the “Science and Technology Award”) was officially announced and held, awarding outstanding talents in the automotive industry who worked hard and dared to innovate, and recognizing outstanding and advanced achievements.
The teams participating in this selection include universities, enterprises, and automotive related research institutions. Among them, the “R&D and Industrialization of Key Technologies for High End Pure Electric Passenger Vehicles” jointly completed by BYD Automotive Industry Co., Ltd. and Tsinghua University won the only special prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award this year.
In the talent category awards, four people were awarded the “China Automotive Industry Excellent Scientific and Technological Talent Award”, and four people were awarded the “China Automotive Industry Excellent Young Scientific and Technological Talent Award”.
“The research, development and application of key technologies for Weilai ES8 high-performance electric vehicles” declared by Weilai won the first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award. It is reported that this project covers the main achievements of the technological innovation of the Weilai ES8 vehicle, including high-strength all-aluminum body, high-performance electric drive system, and multi-scene intelligent driving assistance system. This is also the first car building new force to receive this award.
To achieve the “dual carbon” goal, not only new energy vehicles are being upgraded, but traditional fuel vehicles, especially commercial vehicles, are also gaining momentum. During the critical period of the sixth national transition, many traditional fuel vehicles have made breakthrough achievements in improving the aftertreatment system, improving fuel efficiency, and lightweight development, and received recognition.
The “R&D and Application of Key Lightweight Technologies for Highway Tractors” jointly developed by China Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. and Jilin University won the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award.
It is understood that the “China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Award” is the first social undertaking award registered and approved by the National Science and Technology Award Office in China, and it is a science and technology award for the national automotive industry.
Over the past 20 years, the “China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Award” has awarded nearly 1000 awards and more than 100 outstanding talents in the industry. It has played an important role in stimulating the growth of automotive technology talents and promoting the progress of China’s automotive technology. This award has become one of the highest specification, most authoritative, and most influential technology awards in China’s automotive industry.
