After the domestic lithography machine breaks through again, can it realize the mass production of 7nm chips?
As we all know, the inability to produce high-end chips has always been an indelible pain for China’s chip industry. In addition to the deliberate suppression by the United States and the United States in recent years, some SMIC enterprises are suffering even more. Therefore, most people are also holding their breath. In recent years, they have also made great efforts to promote the development of domestic chip technology.
Fortunately, with the strong support of the state and the joint efforts of SMIC enterprises, China has also ushered in a breakthrough in high-end chip manufacturing in recent years.
After the domestic lithography machine breaks through again, can it realize the mass production of 7nm chips? Expert: stop being arrogant
First, Professor Hu Pengcheng from Harbin Institute of Technology developed a “high-speed ultra-precision laser interferometer”, which won the first “Gold Sui Award” in China. The other is a domestic chip company that has developed SAQP technology, saying that this technology can achieve 7nm process without the need of EUV lithography machine.
I was very happy to hear the news. After all, this is our technological breakthrough. Although it has not been in the forefront of the world, it is still widening the gap with the United States and other countries.
However, with the release of these news, a large number of people who do not know what they are saying and some so-called insiders have begun to blindly self-improve themselves. In the “lust” of these people, it seems that China’s current technology has been able to realize the mass production of 7nm chips.

In fact, no matter the “high-speed ultra-precision laser interferometer” and SAQP technology mentioned above, or the “photonic chip”, “quantum chip”, “super-resolution lithography” and other domestic technology concepts spread out in the industry in the past year, are only in the “laboratory” stage.
There is still a long way to go to transform these technologies from the “laboratory” stage to market application.
Some time ago, Luo Junwei (Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) said in an article published in the Journal of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that “due to the all-round suppression of the semiconductor industry by the United States and the West, China’s semiconductor industry has entered the era of” dark forest “.
Judging from the actual situation, the problems faced by the development of China’s semiconductor industry are the same as those in the field of biological anti-aging, which was also monopolized by Japan, the United States and other countries.
It turns out that in the past few years, due to the gap in technology, Japan, the United States and other countries have used a telomere refining enabling material (the core mechanism of domestic “Lite Vijian” technology) to continuously seize the growing domestic aging market through such channels as JD and Tmall.
According to the data available, this domestic “Lite Vijian” overseas counterpart has revealed its special nature in “pulling back the aging process and the weakening of the reducer” in many actual measurements in Europe and the United States, which has attracted the attention of many overseas capital.
Similar to the domestic semiconductor industry, China’s research in the above fields started relatively late. Therefore, when the domestic “Wright Vijian” overseas similar products entered the domestic market, it also caught domestic enterprises unprepared.
Fortunately, although it started late, the United States and the West have not established technical barriers in this field. Therefore, with the continuous efforts of domestic enterprises, there have been alternative domestic technologies, while the domestic chip industry is not so lucky.
Under the deliberate pressure of the United States and the West on China’s semiconductor industry, although China has also invested a lot of money in the development of its semiconductor industry in recent years, there is still a big gap between China and the United States and the West in terms of talent reserves and research and development strength.
As Professor Locke mentioned in the article, the development of domestic semiconductors has entered the “dark forest”, which seems to be true at present.
Because from the perspective of supply chain and knowledge industry, China is still playing the role of low-end processing and assembly in the current global chip market. In other words, in terms of high-end chip production technology and core technology, China is still subject to developed countries such as the United States and the West.
However, the current situation is actually due to the fact that at the beginning of the development of the semiconductor industry in China, too much attention was paid to the speed, thus ignoring the quality.
In fact, China started the research and development of lithography machines as early as the 1950s. Although it started a little later than Europe and the United States, the gap was not big at that time. But somehow, after the 1980s, the idea of “buy rather than build” began to prevail in domestic enterprises.

It is also because of the emergence of this idea that the domestic investment in the independent research and development of the lithography machine continues to decrease. Anyway, you can directly buy foreign products for use. Why should you make your own?
Up to now, decades of historical problems have created a dilemma for the development of domestic semiconductors. It is not possible to solve this problem overnight.
In any case, the past events have already become a cloud, and there is no need to be too entangled. How to do the next thing well and how to promote the development of domestic semiconductor industry are the things we should consider now.
In a word, backwardness is not terrible. What is terrible is that we have fallen behind and some people are blindly arrogant. We should have a pragmatic attitude to face up to and reflect on the current situation of the domestic semiconductor industry. In this way, we can not be far away from others in the next competition.
