The global sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment in 2021 will increase by 44% over 2020
On April 13, the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) announced that the global sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment in 2021 will increase by 44% over 2020, reaching US $102.6 billion. The sales of semiconductor raw materials also increased by 16%, both reaching record highs.
From the perspective of manufacturing equipment market, Chinese Mainland increased by 58% to US $29.6 billion, the largest scale. Investment in manufacturing technology in mature fields represented by power semiconductors for power control has become active.
Among the major countries and regions, the markets of South Korea and Taiwan, China are more than US $24.9 billion respectively. Samsung Electronics and TSMC, the leaders in cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing, increased their investment. With the development of chip 3D stacking technology, the factory investment in the post-process has also increased. Sales of assembly and packaging equipment surged by 87%.
